National Arbor Day is always celebrated on the last Friday in April, but many states observe Arbor Day on different dates throughout the year based on best tree planting times in their area.

Mequon, Wisconsin is hosting their Arbor Day Festival April 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Logemann Community Center, 6100 W. Mequon Road will be able to participate in various exhibits as well as pick up a free tree.
Free trees include: Norway spruce, white spruce, American beech, bur oak, hackberry, quaking aspen, and American elderberry (shrub).
There will be tree care and maintenance exhibits, a question and answer booth where participants can “ask the city forester.” City park and bikeway plan exhibits will also be offered.
Educational exhibits also include the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, Inc., Ozaukee County Planning and Parks Department, the River Advisory Board, Ozaukee County Master Gardeners, and Wild Ones.
